Walmart is in hot water after illegally using a Bay Area Based clothing line's t shirt designs on their website earlier this year. Walmart has yet to comment directly on the lawsuit. The Bay area based clothing line is called Relevant Wear The Brand which operates mostly online and also at Lake Merrit in Oakland CA on most weekends. After speaking with the South Berkeley designer Mr Perry, also known as Abu Bakr Clifton was devastated to hear the news of Walmart's deceptive practices. Although he cannot speak on the current litigation he says he hopes to secure royalties for every shirt sold in the past and future. A spokesman from Walmart says the company has agreed to conversation about possible royalties for each unit sold. Mr. Perry is hopeful that this situation is beneficial to his kids and that companies big or small think twice before stealing someone's work.
