This is to inform all the students studing in classes 10 and 12 that the Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has accounced that the upcoming board exams are to be held online seeing the unfortunate spike in the number of covid cases in the country. On 1 April, 2021 10 am Mr.Pokhriyal went live on twitter to address the students and the teachers. In his session he cleared all the doubts of the students on the forthcoming board exams, the ministry held a consultation exercise with students and parents on holding of examinations as a fresh cycle of key tests is set to begin with the onset of the new year.
With Covid-19 cases continuing to be reported in several parts of the country, there is a view in the education ministry that the examination calendar for the next year will need to be adjusted.
Among the key exams that have to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and Central Board of Secondary Examination are engineering entrance JEE (Main), class X and XII exams and also the medical entrance exam, NEET.
In 2020, most of these exams saw rescheduling but were ultimately held under a detailed safety protocol.
Many students have shared their queries including ones on the engineering entrance exam syllabus, or JEE Main syllabus, NEET 2021 exam pattern and board exam dates. Several students have also asked Mr Pokhriyal to cancel the 2021 board exams. While several others have suggested their exams be postponed “at least till May 2021”. The students urging the education minister to postpone their board exams till May have said that their syllabus is yet to be completed and they need time to clear concepts.
