A popular video game owned by Epic Games doesn't have that much time left. With 350 million players worldwide, the game has been played by many since 2017.
On June 9, Epic Games released a statement that read the following:
“Because of the population, the Fortnite servers will shut down on July 28, 2020. It was a fun time, but we make less money now and we can’t hold the servers. We don’t have the money to keep them up.”
This statement has sent many into a panic, with many players upset. A popular Fortnite streamer who goes by the name "Ninja", told fans on Twitter "This was unexpected, and I hope these claims are not true. My entire career has been built around Fortnite, and I "
Epic Games replied to that tweet and said the exact opposite of what everyone wanted to hear: "Sadly, we have to shut down the game's servers. As Fortnite is declining in new players, with new players not spending the money on skins and other items in the game, it's become harder to make money to keep the servers running."
We will update this article as we get more news on this situation.
