Driver caught doing more than triple the speed limit whilst breaching lockdown regulations

Hasan khan was behind the wheel of the Golf Gti which came to the attention of the police in West Yorkshire.
After noticing the marked vehicle, the 20-year-old accelerated away towards Wakefield road where he failed to give way at a junction whilst travelling at speeds more than triple the speed limit.
Despite not holding a driving licence, he continued to drive dangerously and at high speeds onto Canal road, forcing other drivers to take evasive action.
Prosecutor shaz said, “The accused’s driving manner was described as being speeds in excess of 120mph in a 40mph zone. It is very lucky that this man has not seriously injured or killed someone or himself”.
Defence solicitor Haaroon Hussain asked the court to give consideration to client’s young age and lack of previous offending. He had never driven a high performance car before and had got carried away. He stated that, the defendant was “highly motivated young man, who is in his second year at university. To impose a harsh penalty would deprive him of his lifetime ambitions. Mr Khan has attended various speed awareness courses since thy is offence and was highly apologetically. His parents had planned to send him back to Pakistan In order to teach him the ‘proper’ Highway Code”.
Mr khan awaits to be sentenced in respect of these pffences
