A man was arrested on Friday for attempting to purchase two Froyos at the Yo Factory on Farwell Avenue in Milwaukee. Police say that the man, Butch Rogers, of South 58th Street, was apprehended after a brief chase on foot.
Manager Skip Ferguson said that the suspect had ordered two Froyos, one a Cake Batter Froyo, and the other an Alpine Vanilla Froyo. He claimed that his wife was unable to come into the establishment to purchase her own. "We don't allow customers to hog Froyo for themselves," Ferguson said. "We have people coming in here all the time trying to get more than their share of Froyo, and it's just not going to happen on my watch."
Rogers was taken into custody after a foot chase several blocks down Farwell Avenue. He was tackled by patrolman Jim Rivers, who had been close by at the time of the call. "He almost got away with it, but a lady at the Fro Factory called 911. It's because of her brave efforts that Rogers was arrested for attempting to purchase excess Froyo."
Rogers is being held at the Milwaukee police department in district 5 and will face the judge Monday morning for arraignment. More on this story as it develops.
